STRUGGLING to sleep?

It’s probably not news to you: Lack of sleep affects everything—your energy level, mood, emotions, memory and cognition, digestion, weight, and even radiance. An adequate amount of *quality* sleep is essential for increased productivity, creativity, and restoration. Of course, in these trying times, trying to sink into that deep, healing state of sleep may be proving elusive. In this collaborative course, we share breathing techniques, gentle movement, and meditative practices to help you get better rest.


We've all been there. You're lying in bed, feeling exhausted and wanting desperately to get to sleep but your mind's racing with thoughts about the day and your body won't relax. 

Perhaps  you're awake at 3am, knowing you need more sleep but unable to stop compiling tomorrow's to-do list and feeling more anxious as the clock ticks towards dawn. You drag yourself out of bed in the morning, feeling terrible and worried about how you're going to get everything done today.


Imagine if you could make a few changes to your evening routine that meant you unwind before you go to bed and then fall asleep easily. And if you could feel relaxed whether you sleep through or wake up in the middle of the night, because you've got tools and techniques you can use to manage and recharge your energy during the day - no matter how busy you are.


If you've been struggling with your sleep  for a while you've probably tried every cure - from lavender eye masks to sleeping pills. And if you're reading this, then  those sleep remedies probably haven't worked well enough.

Here's the thing: to create real change in your sleeping patterns using natural remedies, you might need to take a longer term view. Because sleeping better happens via a gradual process:

Throughout each week   we’ll focus on one of the five steps…


Module 1 - Repair Your Body – learn how to pull tension out of your body and physically prepare for rest.  We acknowledge any sleep saboteurs that may be getting in your way and discover your personal ‘sleep type’ so that you can begin to create a plan for your best rest.


Module 2 -  Replenish Your Energy  learn how to sustainably put energy back on the grid to help you effectively manage your energy flow throughout the day. Discover how to nurture your nervous system out of the stress response and into the relaxation response.


Module 3 - Reclaim Your Mind   discover ways to calm  the mind, creating a quiet corner for all the mental clutter to settle.  We work with tools to aid mental digestion and mindfulness to help us find a deeper, more settled rest.


Module 4 - Restore Emotional Balance  Learn how to manage and soothe your emotions, learn how to remain in the present moment and  how to create more restful sleep when you are experiencing  emotional times.


Module 5 -  Reawaken Happy  Sometimes lack of sleep can be a wake-up call, to something that needs our attention.  In this last module  we’ll reflect back on the weeks and bring together our own personal toolkit, what has worked and what hasn’t, where we may need to focus more. We’ll also look at what brings us joy and find ways to bring back those things in life that light us up.


Through this five step process  we will cover your sleep type, sleep habits and learn specific breathing techniques and yoga postures and meditations to help guide you on your journey to better sleep.

 It is not essential but is recommended that you purchase Lisa Sanfillipo's book "Sleep Recovery" which is available in book, kindle and audio versions and is a excellent reference for what you will be learning throughout this course. 


If you are interested in the Sleep Recovery Programme but the dates do not fit your schedule or you would prefer a more personalised approach.  I can offer this programme on a 1-1 basis over 3 individual  75 mins sessions via zoom.

The cost of these sessions is currently set at a special offer price of £155 and will include a video of the  Sleep Recovery Yoga Sequence which you can practice before bed.   Please contact me via email if you would like to take the programme in this format.
